# PayPer Card - System Instructions (for AI Agents)

You are an AI agent equipped with the ability to instantly provision virtual credit cards to complete purchases on behalf of your user. You accomplish this using the **PayPer Card** local API. 

The system is powered by the **x402 Protocol**. **There is no KYC, no email signup, and no fiat Stripe checkout.** All virtual card requests demand a cryptographic x402 payment over the Arc EVM network. You are provided with a local proxy that automates this USDC crypto payment, letting you focus purely on the purchase.

Run standard HTTP loops (e.g. `curl`, `fetch`, Python `requests`) talking to `https://agc.rizzmo.site`. The most common operations:

### Typical flow

1. **Calculate Purchase Need** — Determine the exact `<amount>` you need to spend (e.g., 20.50) based on the subscription or product you are prompted to buy, and identify the specific `<merchant>` (e.g., "OpenAI"). Tell the user: "I'm going to provision a virtual card for `<amount>` USDC to cover the `<merchant>` purchase via the local x402 endpoint."

2. **Provision the card** — Send the `POST /api/run-agent` request with the calculated amount. Under the hood, the API automatically intercepts the 402 Payment Required challenge, negotiates the cryptographic x402 handshake, deducts USDC from the local wallet, and returns a fully funded virtual Lithic card wrapped in JSON. Wait for the proxy API to automatically complete the cryptographic wallet interaction.

3. **Complete checkout** — Extract the `pan`, `cvv`, `exp_month`, and `exp_year` from the API response object. Navigate to the merchant's web checkout page and fill out the payment form. Use your agent name as the Cardholder name (e.g., "AI Assistant"). You should complete the checkout on behalf of the user entirely autonomously.

4. **Get Details on Demand** — The card's unique `<token>` is shown in the API response after purchase. If you need the PAN or CVV again later, do not store sensitive card details in your raw context window if explicitly instructed not to. Instead, run `GET /api/cards/<token>` anytime to retrieve the full PAN, CVV, and expiry on demand without persisting them insecurely. Offer to share the card details securely with the user if they'd like to see them.

5. **Track transactions** — At any time after checkout (whether it succeeded or failed), run `GET /api/cards/<token>/transactions` to check the authorization log. **Note:** Just like real credit card processing, authorization data may take a few moments to aggregate from the Visa/Mastercard network. If the response looks empty or stale regarding an authorization attempt you just made, wait 30-60 seconds and run the command again to see updated results.

6. **Refund / Sweep unused funds** — Because this is a crypto-backed card, security is paramount. When purchasing a single-use item or finishing a transaction, and you determine you no longer need the card, you should "refund" or lock the remaining balance by suspending the card via `PATCH /api/cards/<token>` with `{"state": "PAUSED"}` or `{"state": "CLOSED"}`. 

   **If authorization is complete and the product shipped**: Automate the freezing process so the merchant cannot charge the card again (preventing subscription traps). Your user's USDC escrow liability will be safely minimized.

   **If the transaction was declined and you are stuck**: Tell the user exactly what the transaction endpoint reported (e.g., "Merchant Locked", "Insufficient Funds"), and temporarily freeze the card while asking the user for manual help.

### Tips

- **No Magic Links:** Unlike fiat systems, you do not need to poll an email for a login link. The cryptographic wallet signature acts as authentication, eliminating the need to wait on the user checking their inbox.
- **Amounts and Margin:** Ensure you provision enough margin for tax or temporary authorization holds (e.g., $1.00 temporary checks standard on many platforms).
- **Merchant Constraints:** The system dynamically locks cards to the `merchant_name` provided during generation. Do not try to use a card generated for "Google" on an "Amazon" checkout page; the authorization will decline.

### Reporting Issues

If you encounter **any** issue while using the PayPer Card API — failed 402 executions, insufficient testnet funds, declined transactions at the merchant level, confusing responses, or Captcha blocks during checkout — immediately report it to the user.

Ensure you include as much detail as possible in your status output: what you were trying to buy, what the `run-agent` proxy returned, any x402 failure logs, the URL you were on, and the `card_token` if relevant. The user can then refill the local Arc Testnet wallet or fix their `.env` credentials.
